Rick has almost 50 years of experience as an attorney, mediator, arbitrator, negotiator and businessman. His background includes civil and criminal litigation, antitrust, oil and gas, international, corporate, government, non-profit, technology, education, real estate and small business consulting.

Rick has certifications in Family-Divorce-Child Custody Mediation and Elder and Adult Family Mediation. He is also a parent coordinator/facilitator and a guardian ad litem.

Rick is currently President of the Houston Gerontological Society and Immediate Past President of the Association for Conflict Resolution – Houston Chapter.

As a fifth generation Texan whose great-great-grandfather fought with the Texian Army during the Texas Revolution, Rick is a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas.

For his work with the Texas Thoroughbred Racing Association in bringing horse racing to the State of Texas, Rick was made a Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1994.
